Drudkh sign with Season Of Mist
Slavonic heathen metal band DRUDKH have inked a record deal with French label Season Of Mist. The band's cinematic, folk-influenced music focuses on a strong atmosphere with a lot of feeling, and the lyrical contents are about nature mysticism, seasons, philosophy, Ukrainian mythology, legends and history. Many of the band's lyrics are derived from the works of nineteenth and twentieth centuries Ukrainian poets.
DRUDKH decided to issue this one public statement only. They will also in future stick to their general rule, which means that DRUDKH will not be giving interviews nor make use of any internet platform:
"During all its history, the band followed a 'no photos, no interviews, no website, no gigs' policy, which was nobly accepted by DRUDKH's new label Season of Mist. The absence of any comments or information from DRUDKH's side gave an opening to a few ignorant internet warrior-fans to spread rumors, that the band embraces some extreme political views. This is absolutely misleading and a total profanation, since there is nothing in DRUDKH's music or lyrics that would suggest any political outlook. DRUDKH praise individualism, self-improvement and estrangement from modern values."
DRUDKH's upcoming album, whose title will be announced shortly, is set to an early 2009 release.
