For Ruin: New album in the works
Irish dark metallers For Ruin have completed a ten track pre-production demo of their second album in October and the album as yet remains untitled.
The band says: "We have a few title ideas for the album that we're throwing about... The new album is full of the aggression and harmonies from before and will have a production to match the quality of the songs. There's 2 instrumental songs in there this time; one is in the vein of 'December' while the other is probably the fastest and most aggressive song we've written to date".
Writing duties were shared among the band this time around and some of the working song titles include 'Deluge', 'Solace', 'Elysium' and
'Recoil'. Artwork for the album will be by Paul McCarroll who´s work has graced many quality releases (Primordial etc.).
The recording is scheduled to begin on Jan 1st '09 in Cork with Alwyn Walker of Komodo Studios (http://www.komodorecordings.com/) as the on-location producer for the album. Look for a release on Sentinel Records in mid '09.
For Ruin spent much of 2008 writing and rehearsing material for the new album which will be the first to feature bassist Pete Lawlor and original drummer Steve O'Connell, along with Drew Myers and John Murphy. Performing only two shows (photo by Simon Ward) in 2008 (with Primordial in Dublin and Skyforger in London), 2009 will be a busy year for the band who will play two shows (the second with Rotting Christ and Paradise Lost) in the early part of 2009. International shows will be announced upon the album's release.
