Anger As Art: 'Disfigure'
Californian thrashers featuring ex-Abattoir and ex-Hirax guys, Anger As Art, have been creating their 3rd full length album, titled 'Disfigure'. Here is an update from vocalist/guitarist Steve Gaines:
"Well, that's it! Pre-production is over. We had our last rehearsal last night... And the next time we get together we will begin tracking the 3rd Anger As Art album - 'Disfigure'.
I feel very fortunate to be able to do this record with all of these guys - Angelo, Rob and Dan, also John and Chris - and Patrick at OSM. Some times change is a good thing - and all of these changes needed to happen in order to be where we are now. I have done many records (c'mon guys, my body of work dates back to vinyl... I still call them 'records'), and can honestly say that the excitement level is right there on a par with doing the first AAA CD, or even doing Abattoir's 'Vicious Attack'. I am also very aware that it might be the last full length recording I will ever do. Not that I am going away, or retiring... But that the change has come to the industry so dramatically over the past couple of years. It is the last record we are contracted to do for our label, OSM Records. Our relationship with the label is as strong as ever... And we may very well continue with them beyond the Disfigure cycle. But ever being the realist, where will the industry be when we are ready to consider the next recording/release? Strange and exciting times.
Back to the present and 'Disfigure':
It will be a combination of efforts - the bulk of the tracking will be done with John Haddad at Trench Studio... With vocals and extra stuff with Chris Trent at CT Audio. We will be releasing video updates to you here on the Myspace page - as well as on our Youtube channel. You should get one maybe once a week until it is done. Each of the guys will have camera time... B.s.ing about whatever they experience through the process. Thanks for signing on for another round with the Anger! As always, we do it for you, and will not let you down.
And yes, there is pre-production rehearsal video elsewhere here on the myspace page. It was still loading up when I checked it - so once we get the bugs worked out, come check out a couple of the songs from the next opus!
Be in contact - thanks,
Steve Gaines"
