Nightfall: 'Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants'

Greek Metal Gods Nightfall have announced the track listing and release dates for their new album 'Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants'.

Pompous, grandiose, savvy – the album attracts names from people who have been enjoying an earlier audition, offering satisfaction to the whole team involved in the genesis of it.

The band claims 'Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants' the best Nightfall album so far, raising expectations to the maximum. "We have worked hard and we've put lots energy and effort in the details of the production. The outcome is massive and believe can attract any metal fan's attention", commented the band.

The powerful Athenian act is now running on an ingenious combustible engine made of Greek, American and German blend and is aiming high.

The album's artwork has been created by Travis Smith (Opeth, Death, Nevermore, Katatonia a.o.). It is unique and beyond Mr. Smith's typical patterns. "The front cover depicts the sea, the grand opposite of the sky-cum-space, and the means we humans are inventing to explore the unexplored. We are part of this universe and we use its planets to navigate, to tune our lives through the "time" set by their motion, and who knows, may be to escape to some day in the future."

Nightfall prepared a video teaser to celebrate the unveiling of the great cover artwork - click here to check out the video of the cover presentation and listen to excerpts of 'Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants'.

The album was recorded in various places with Soundlodge (Germany) being the main studio. It has been produced by Efthimis Karadimas ('Athenian Echoes') and co produced by Jorg Uken (known from his work with God Dethroned, Dew Scented, and Sinister).

'Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants' will be released on August 27/30 in Europe and on August 31 in North America.

The tracklisting reveals the concept behind the album:

3. Astronomica / Saturnian Moon
4. Astra Planeta / We Chose the Sun

(older news about the topic:)

Greek metal gods Nightfall have returned with a brand new, bone-crushing record to stake their claim as the rightful heirs to the Greek metal throne. 'Astron Black & the Thirty Tyrants' is a symphonic death metal tour-de-force steeped in epic flavors and bombast, with fresh faces providing new insight and drive to the classic Nightfall sound.

The album is being recorded in various places with Soundlodge (Germany) being the main studio. It has been produced by Efthimis Karadimas (Athenian Echoes) and co-produced by Jorg Uken (known from his work with God Dethroned, Dew-Scented, and Sinister). His experience behind the recording desk and his soul in recording both as the new drummer of the band is a great plus for the whole production and for everybody truly into metal drumming the... Old classic metal way.

The about 43 minutes long, 12 track album is expected to be ready soon. Main recordings have been complete, proceeding to post production stage the following weeks.

Mixing and mastering to follow right after promoting a massive sound combining uniquely European roughness with US guitar expertise. Certainly an album not to miss. Official release planned for autumn 2010 worldwide through Metal Blade Records, while an introductory video clip is expected to come forward in spring 2010 just to haunt your summer lull. Because the Tyrants were not dead, but only sleeping...

Nightfall formed in 1991 in Athens and have released seven albums since then. After the temporary fold of their wings for a few moments-cum-years, they enter the scene again with a brand new opus under the magnificent title 'Astron Black & the Thirty Tyrants'.

NIGHTFALL is:

Efthimis Karadimas (vocals)
Evan Hensley (guitars)
Stathis Kassios (keyboards)
Jörg Uken (drums)
