The Batallion

The Batallion: 'Head up High' 12" vinyl version coming

Ledo Takas Records is proud to announce the new release, a vinyl edition of the second The Batallion (Norway) album, aptly titled 'Head up High'. Eleven tracks and 38 minutes long album is the follow up to the 2008's debut 'Stronghold of Men', produced by Bart Schlagermeister at Bergen's Conclave studios, co-owned by Enslaved members. CD version of 'Head up High' was released to a critical acclaim by Dark Essence Records on 27th September 2010, and now it is time for the wax maniacs to feast upon.

The band, featuring members of Taake, Borknagar, Dead To This World, Grimfist, Bomberos, and the mighty procreators of the Norsk scene - Old Funeral, gathered together in 2006, and describes itself as taking a bad ass eighties' death/thrash metal, sharing love for traditional and early black metal, and smearing it up with good old dirty rock'n'roll, that is clearly epitomized by the spirit & energy of the songs. Even the stage names speak for the glory days of metal as well: Stud Bronson - guitar/vocals, Lust Kilman - guitar, Colt Kane - bass, Morden - drums. 2008 brought the debut album of ambitious team, 'Stronghold of Men', that was an authentic trip to the territory of masculine joy, peppered with slightly humorous approach, and has gained them a peculiar following among the die-hards. The follow up record picks up where the debut has left off: non reduced metal attitude and enthusiastic heavy-weighted fury!

Limited 'Head up High' 12" LP comes on classic black vinyl in a gatefold 350g sleeve with foldout poster-like live picture of the band, and the inner sleeve, featuring all lyrics and credits.

The track listing:
- Mind My Step
- Head up High
- When Death Becomes Dangerous
- Within the Frame of the Graveyard
- Thick Skinned and Weatherbitten
- Each Man for Himself
- Undertakers
- Paces
- Where There Is Smoke There Is Fire
- The Roaring Grandfather
- Bring out Your Dead

Ledo Takas has settled November 22nd 2010 as the release date of The Batallion 'Head Up High' 12" LP.
