Diesto release video for 'Edge of the World'
As Portland's doombrewers Diesto prepare for their fifth full-length, 'For Water or Blood', to see vinyl/digital release this Tuesday, August 27th via homegrown Eolian Empire, today their gnarly new video for 'Edge of the World' infiltrates the interwebbery.

Directed by Adam Cornelius (Ecstasy Of Order: The Tetris Masters, People Who Do Noise) from a script by band friend Scott Blais, and filmed at a completely off-the-grid location in the Cascade Mountains, the blackened backwoods comedy in 'Edge of the World' features Oscar-worthy appearances by all four members of Diesto as well as their underworld comrade Erik Olson of Lord Dying stardom. An out-of-the-way gig takes a brutally unexpected twist by a homicidally-obsessed fan in this Deliverance meets Misery visual doom rock oeuvre.
Since the turn of the century, Diesto has ravaged the lands with their pummeling riffery through a pile of releases and countless shows, their determination heralding the band as one of Portland's hardest-working heavy acts through both touring and four previous full-lengths. While their earlier days showcased a more noiserock-built flamboyance, over time the aggro has eroded a bit, the sharper edges of their rock now worn down to a smoother doom rock style, while all of the heaviness remains. Their fifth LP 'For Water or Blood' is their first release for Eolian Empire, and their first album to be released on vinyl. Recorded by Adam Pike (Red Fang, Norska, Nether Regions) at Toadhouse, their love of pedal-free amplifier tone comes alive, the album's seven songs tracked live with minimal overdubs making 'For Water or Blood' an arduous but adventurous journey into the unknown using the wisdom of the ages.
