Aska: 6th album 'Fire Eater' out in september
The release date of the new Aska album 'Fire Eater' is September 27th, 2013. The preorder phase will start on September 13th, 2013 at Pure Steel Records' web shop. 'Fire Eater' is the sixth and latest release from long running Dallas, Texas based traditional metal warriors - Aska.
The quartet, in action for two decades now, with 40 countries notched on their touring belts and counting, centers around front man/vocalist/guitarist George Call. Yes, the same George Call who helped revive legendary, epic metal band Omen's career and the same George Call that took the lead vocalist position for Atlantic Records recording act, Banshee, made it his own and delivered one of the best traditional metal album's of 2012 with that band's comeback record 'Mindslave'. And finally, yes, the same George Call that took over lead vocals for Aska from his band members and fascinated the scene with their last two albums 'Avenger' and 'Absolute Power' (both re-released by Pure Steel) which reached cult status.
So here we are, quite proud to present their long anticipated new record, 'Fire Eater': powerful, brimming over with drive and passion, and continuing steadily in the tradition of their former albums. Melodic and straight heavy metal with the trademark Aska sound, George's distinctive, rough and high power-voice, perfectly placed high-pitched screams, and some classic Maiden twin-leads: everything that a metal fan might wish for can be found on this platter. The anthem-like 'Valhalla', the enigmatic 'Everyone Dies', the metal hit-if-there-ever-was-one 'Dead again', the mini-reunion of the 'Avenger' era lineup 'Son of a God', the collaboration with Switzerland's Emerald on 'Eye of the Serpent' (a different version from that found on Emerald's 'Unleashed' album featuring three Aska and four Emerald members), or the powerful Judas Priest cover version of 'The Ripper': Aska knows how to convince their fans!
With 'Fire Eater', Aska proves yet again that classic US metal has not lost its magic!
