Benediction

Benediction: 'Killing Music'

Long-running UK extreme metallers Benediction have finished the recordings for their new album, 'Killing Music'.
Commented by the band: "Well, that's it. We've recorded everything and now we have to let go of it. It is in the more than capable hands of the producer, Mick Kenney of Anaal Nathrakh infamy. If you can imagine the crispness of the 'Grind Bastard' album with the ferocity of Anaal Nathrakh on a disc then you will get the idea of what is to come. A lot of beer, football, hospitals, pubs, curries, kebabs, kitkats and crisps went into the making of 'Killing Music'!
Thanks to everyone who popped in on the recording sessions to give support and drink our free beer! We look forward to hearing the finished product once Mick has weaved his ginger magic on our baby."
'Killing Reason' will be released on August 22nd 2008.

Older news about this:

English brutes Benediction are returning after a five-year break between studio recordings. The band's forthcoming (on Nuclear Blast) seventh full length album, entitled 'Killing Music'.
The band have posted the following message on their MySpace.com page:
"Ok, they've talked and talked about it for long enough. The boys will be going into the studio on November the 21st (booked and confirmed!) to actually record the fucking album at long last. It will be released at the end of march 2008 and a full tour will commence in April 2008 for god knows how long followed by as many festivals that will allow them to play!!! There will be at least 12 tracks on the final mix, maybe more if the studio can keep them out of the bar for long enough. Let's hope they manage to stay alive long enough to get in the studio considering the mayhem they cause by just popping out for a few drinks together!!!!!!! Get the ambulances ready, it's gonna get messy."

Older news about this:

The band said: "This will be our first new release since 2001. It took so long because we just didn't jell with any other drummers — Nick [Barker] is the man.
The new album has a few new styles on it, along with the punk/death riffs that we like so much. The drumming on our new tracks totally transformed the songs. Nick is awesome on that bastard kit of his."
