Voivod introduce new bass player

Canada's futuristic thrashers / progressive metallers Voivod have departed with bass player Jean-Yves "Blacky" Thériault. He was the forming member of the band in 1981 (his active years with the band were (1981-1991 and 2008-2014).

Here is a message from Voivod:

"It saddens us to announce that Voivod will no longer be performing live with Blacky. Jean-Yves has decided to leave the band for his own personal reasons. We wish him all the best. Voivod will carry on."

The new bass player in Voivod is Dominic "Rocky" Laroche, who has played with blues musician Steve Hill.
