These bands were touring with Kult Ov Azazel in Jackson County, Georgia, USA. Their van which was carrying 12 people and towing a trailer, left I-85, rolled down an embankment, and crashed into a tree.
11Alive.com reports:
"Three men were ejected [from the van] and died at the scene. Georgia State Patrol identified them as 25-year-old Nicholas R. Crisostomo, of Round Hill, Va.; 30-year-old Ian McKinney, of Madison, Tenn.; and 29-year-old Paul Truesdell, of Mableton, Ga.
Five people were transported to Athens Regional Medical Center. They were identified by GSP as 31-year-old Matthew Shaner, of Silver Springs, Md.; 19-year-old Jasmine Zarinebaf, of Naperville, Ill.; 44-year-old Kamilla Hayes, of Norcross, Ga.; 49-year-old Batricia Shoemaker, of Jonesboro, Ga.; and 45-year-old Christopher Pezzano, of Toney, Ala.
Three people were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center. They were identified as 49-year-old Christopher Pyle, of Owensboro, Ky.; 25-year-old James Berile, of Leesburg, Va.; and 53-year-old Stephen Shoemaker, of Jonesboro, Ga.
Two of those taken to hospital remain in critical condition.
The driver of the van was 27-year-old Sergio Quesada, of Athens, Ga., according to the GSP. He was not injured.
It was the first tour for Paul Truesdell. Friends of his told 11 Alive News he was fulfilling his dream of touring with a band. "Paul was one of the kindest men that I ever met," said Tara Mediate who hired Truesdell to work for her company. "If you asked him to do anything he'd just jump for it."
Truesdell's persona in the band Wormreich, a death metal band, was not who he was, Mediate said. Mediates company is KooKoo Bear Kids, a furniture and decor company for babies and young children. Truesdell worked for the company for three years and was the warehouse supervisor.
"You know the old saying you can't judge a book by it's cover?," Mediate asked. "That's really true because Paul was really one of the most awesome, gentle, kind people I know."
The Georgia State Patrol is still investigating what caused the van to leave the roadway. Smith said charges are pending, but it's too early to say exactly what those charges will be; he said an investigation could last months."
