Whorion

Whorion split wit vocalist

Helsinki death metallers Whorion are amicably parting with their singer Ari Nieminen, who joined the band in 2013.

The band commented: "As our journey continues towards the unknown we have arrived to a crossroads where our pathways go in different directions with one of our member. With great respect we part ways with our vocalist Ari. As original voice of Whorion, this brings us to new chapter to continue the story that has begun. Whorion continues forward and new voice will be added to the lines to bring next release alive. All great things must come to an end to grow new better foundation."

Ari Nieminen commented: "I've been singing more or less actively in various metal bands for 15 years, and now the time for a change has come. Therefore, I am leaving my place as the lead singer of Whorion (which is, in my honest opinion, the best technical death metal band in Finland). The main reason is that I have slowly but surely lost my passion in band life, and want to focus on my family and my longterm dream of acting, which I started doing a year ago as some of you may have noticed. It's been keeping me busy and I have been happier ever since. Of course it's still hard to be a husband, a father, and try to keep money coming to the house at the same time, but this is the way for me to go. I'm not leaving music completely but I have to put it aside for a while, and I'm surely going to do it, but with my own terms when the time comes.

"I also want to salute my fellow musicians and say that it's respectable to keep on chasing the dream of being a full-time musician, the challenge is huge- especially when you have other obligations, like family or a day job. It truly takes passion and commitment. So it's goodbye, farewell and huge THANK YOU to my bandmates! Also thank you to everyone who have been supporting me during these years. There's a lot of you. Also thank you to my lovely girlfriend Tiina, the kids, my relatives, friends and co-workers. Not to mention the fans! Keep it real! If you are interested you can follow my career through my personal artist page. - Ari"
