Thanatos
Thanatos's first 3 albums to be released as a limited box set
Dutch death metal godz Thanatos's first three albums ('Emerging from the Netherworlds' [1990], 'Realm of Ecstacy' [1992] and 'Angelic Encounters' [2000]) will be released as a imited edition collector's box set by Chinese label AreaDeath Productions.
The boxset will contain 3 double-CD's including loads of unreleased stuff including live stuff and rehearsals from the eighties plus a t-shirt, a poster, a sticker and a postcard, mayb even something else. Re-releases will also be available separately. The re-releases are expected to be released before the end of 2006.
The band commented: "One of the most important things though is that the 'Angelic Encounters' album will be re-mixed for this release, so hopefully we can create a better sound than the original version."
Some other news:
The band haven't found label as yet. Thanatos drummer Yuri (Xul) is a permanent member of Mesopotamian metal band Melechesh, whilst bass player Marco is helping out during their live shows.
Guitarist/vocalist Stephan has joined reformed Dutch thrash pioneers Second Hell for vocal duties. Second Hell's present line up also includes former Thanatos guitarists Mark Staffhorst and Erwin de Brouwer.
