Shaaman
Shaaman call it quits
Brazilian Shaaman (formerly known as Shaman, featuring ex-Angra members André Matos [vocals], Luis Mariutti [bass) and Ricardo Confessori [drums]) have split up. The statement was posted on Shaaman For Tomorrow fan club site. Here's the translation from the forum:
"Hello friends,
Writing these lines was not easy at all, since it represents the end of a stage, this stage that represented so much to all of us, but that has unfortunately come to an end.
Shaaman was born more than six years ago as the continuity of a great work that couldn't stop and which, due to a great friendship, dedication and effort from everyone, surpassed difficulties and reached most of its objectives. Everything that we've been through during these years was real, intense, and represented a lot to all of us, and certainly to the fans that were on our side.
Since the beginning of this year lots of speculation regarding Shaaman have risen, and they've made our fans aprehensive. Be sure, all of you, that everything was done in the best way possible to solve incompatibilities and, at the same time, to spare us from an unnecessary stress, but unfortunately this was not always possible.
The human capability of making relationships is unique, but at the same time as it can unite people, it may also separate paths.
It's hard to predict, but the fact is that right now Luis, Hugo and Andre no longer have the same objectives as we once shared together. This makes the future uncertain, but not impossible to overcome, and it's with this certainty that I once again reaffirm my commitment as a musician, with all of those who have believed and supported me, to move on!
I thank and I am very grateful to everyone who's been with me and shared this trajectory with the certainty of meeting again real soon!!!
A hug,
Ricardo Confessori"
