Crimfall quit
Finnish symphonic pagan metal band Crimfall have called it a day. Here's the band's statement:
"This is our final farewell...
Once you have given everything for 12 years to the band it is beyond hard to leave it behind. To leave this family and project that you have sacrificed enormous amounts of energy, time and money. But in our grief and sadness it is finally time to admit defeat... it has become impossible to carry on without persevering partners dedicated to long and hard work for Crimfall.
Let's be honest. 'Amain' was a financial disaster both for the band and our record label. Album sales were incredibly low and even streaming numbers were far from expectations. We have had two concert booking agents to work for us and yet we had fewer gigs than ever to support the album.
There must be many things we could have done differently along these years but we have never compromised and always given our everything to the band. Unfortunately nowadays that is not enough and we are facing a situation where we simply don't have resources, money nor support to release the album (that is already composed) with the production values and quality it requires. So let the 'Amain' be our final album from what we should be remembered and judged upon. Let it be our common memory that we shared with you in concerts and in your sound systems. Remember us fondly.
Even this path comes to an end we will all continue to create and participate in various projects. Music has always been the spark for us that ignited and kept feeding the flame with passion and dedication, something that no one can take away from us.
We would like to thank each and every one of those volunteers who have supported us in studio, media creation, tours and concerts. You are way too numerous to thank individually but you know who you are and have our eternal gratitude.
These last words are dedicated to our fans who have in loyalty bought our records and visited our concerts. Without you this journey would have been short and lonely. You have given part of your dedication and love to us to carry forever in our hearts and for that we thank you.
