Martyr announce another guitarist change
In striving for Martyr 2.0, the Dutch metallers Martyr would like to inform that they have replaced Marcel den Breejen (guitar) due to personal differences. Geoffrey Maas (ex-Downcast Collision) has taken the spot of 2nd guitarist effective as of immediately. Geoffrey is the right choice to achieve the goals Martyr is aiming for such as the live shows (aka The Martyr eXperience) and for the forthcoming recordings for a new album planned for 2019.
Geoffrey Maas commented: "I grew up in a music loving family and from the age of 15 I was busy with music a lot. When I first listened to the album 'Rust in Peace' of Megadeth, I was very impressed and instantly knew that I wanted to go into the metal. In the years to follow I played in several metal bands and played many gigs in the Netherlands and abroad.
Why Martyr? After a music break in a very turbulent year I was eager to start playing again. After receiving the invitation for an audition I didn't have to think twice. After a very good audition I felt at home straight away. I am honoured to excel as a Martyr guitarist.
Martyr guitarist Rick Bouwman added: "We regret the fact that we have had member changes in the past year but on the other side I am very proud that Martyr has withstood the changes. The fact that Martyr has been active on the metal front since 1982, they are still eager to play better than ever. Geoffrey has been in the picture for some time and we are very happy that he has decided to join Martyr. A guitar player with massive experience, the right attitude (down to earth) and a great personality. We are looking forward to hit the stages with him.
There will be no disruption of the planned shows, it will even be better. Martyr 2.0 will sound as never before".
