Underside
Undeside release 'Gadhimai' music video
'Gadhimai' is the first track released from Nepalese metal band Underside's forthcoming album, which should be out in Autumn this year, with mixing and mastering handled by Jens Borgen.
The band commented: "Gadhimai is a sacrificial ceremony that takes place every 5 years in southern Nepal at the temple of Gadhimai. Around 200000-300000 animals are slaughtered to worship the goddess while devotees seek peace, prosperity and wellbeing. It is a complete blood bath, claimed to have been banned by various organizations, but still continued till 2015. Underside strongly condemns killing or abuse of any kind or any manner in the name of "GOD". It is yet to be seen if the festival will take place again."
The music takes influence from sounds across the heavy metal spectrum blended with the bands local cultural and tribal surroundings, creating a fresh and comfortable sound. It fits well in current climate, being both musically and politically charged.
The band will perform at this years Download festival in Donington Park, UK, on the Dogtooth stage, Saturday 15th June.
