Fractal Universe unleash 'Rising Oblivion' music video

Earlier this year, French progressive deathsters Fractal Universe released their new record, 'Rhizomes of Insanity', via Metal Blade Records, and toured across Europe in support of it. During their show at Place du Luxembourg (Thionville, France), the band also filmed a video for the album track, 'Rising Oblivion'.

'Rhizomes of Insanity' hits as hard intellectually as it does sonically, affirming the French quartet's place on the progressive death metal map.

2. Flashes of Potentialities (04:52)
3. Rising Oblivion (04:24)
4. A Reality to Foreclose (05:14)
5. Masterpiece's Parallelism (04:18)
6. Parabola of Silence (05:05)
7. Madness' Arabesques (04:44)
8. Architectural Aberrations (03:40)
9. Fundamental Dividing Principle (05:02)
10. Chiasmus of the Damned (05:44)

"'Rhizomes of Insanity' is a concept album based on a thought experiment around the concept of insanity," asserts vocalist/guitarist Vince Wilquin. "It questions the origins of it, and tries to define where we set its boundaries with 'reason'. It eventually questions its place in our modern society and surmises that it has turned into an intrinsic, unavoidable but also necessary part of it and of every human being, which we're trying to repress at all costs." From start to finish, the album is an immersive, complex yet wholly accessible collection rich in melody, invention, and packed with decimating riffs - wielding ten tracks, all of which hit their mark.

In April, the first music video, 'Flashes of Potentialities', was released.

The band commented: "Directed by Vincent Tournaud, the video was shot within 2 days in the Euville quarry, in France. It was quite challenging to carry all the gear around, but it was also a lot of fun, and the landscapes are definitely worth it!"
