King Parrot release 'Kick up a Stink' music video; new EP out now
Australian grind faction King Parrot today drops their scorching new limited-edition seven-inch EP, 'Holed up in the Lair', and in true band fashion, it's accompanied by a comical new music video for the track 'Kick up a Stink'.
'Holed up in the Lair' EP is limited to 1000 copies worldwide and is out now on Housecore Records in North America, Agonia Records in Europe/UK, and Dead Set Records in Australasia/Asia. For preorder options, visit the King Parrot website at kingparrot.net.
The EP was titled in homage to the legendary Nodferatu's Lair recording studio in Louisiana where it came to life. The band had four days off while on tour back in 2017, and in that time fully wrote and recorded the entire thing. With engineer Steve "Big Fella" Berrigan at the helm, the EP includes guest vocals from Philip H. Anselmo on the track 'Nor Is Yours'. This rare and raw balls to the wall recording, not only gives fans some new King Parrot tunes, but it also offers a glimpse of what they can do, so seemingly effortlessly at the drop of a hat. King Parrot gets thrown into a studio randomly with no songs written on some days off while touring and we end up with some golden nuggets. This is what you get from years of touring, tons of shows, and countless hours of writing together.
Having a fierce reputation for delivering highly engaging, original and, at times, downright twisted music videos playing off the ragtag bunch of characters that make up the band, King Parrot. Clips always make for compelling viewing. This time around, talented artist Mike Foxall provides the incredible and downright hilarious animation. Usual suspect/cult hero, bassist Slatts Everyday finds himself in a dilemma after running out of toilet paper. Chaos ensues as he becomes entwined in a "shitty situation", with a tongue-in-cheek jibe at the state of the world's current affairs.
