Lion's Share release 'Aim Higher' single

Swedish heavy/power metalles Lion's Share have announced a new single, 'Aim Higher'.

The song features guitarist Lars "Chriss" Christmansson and vocalist Nils Patrik Johansson, who are accompanyed by bass player Andy Loos, drummer Nils Fredrik Johansson and on keyboards, Kay Backlund.

"In these strange days of Covid-19, we feel the time is right to give you a song with a positive touch. This is a song about you deciding your own destiny and that you can achieve whatever you want if you never give up, never take shit and believe in yourself," says Lion's Share singer Nils Patrik Johansson.

In late 2018, Lion's Share released a new five-track EP, plus its complete catalog - remastered with new artwork - on streaming services and digital service providers for the first time. The band have since released a few more digital singles, some of which will and some of which won't end up on the forthcoming full-length album.

Lion's Share guitarist Lars Chriss says: "We had big plans for 2020, with a new album and everything. We had just done our first couple of live shows in many years this past March in Germany when the Covid-19 put stop to it all."

Both Johansson and Chriss remark that they have always worked very well together, and at this point it feels the most natural to keep Lion's Share as a duo, with friends helping out wherever needed.

Lion's Share are a well known heavy metal band from Sweden. Several albums on the major indie metal labels worldwide and tours with legends like Motörhead, Dio, Manowar, Saxon, Dee Snider, Iced Earth, Nevermore, U.D.O. (Accept) etc. The cataloge features members and ex-members from bands like KISS, Megadeth, Symphony X, Yngwie Malmsteen etc.

In August, the band released their first new single, 'Shotgun Messiah', which is a re-recording of the song from the band's 2001 album 'Entrance'.

"Very cool to revisit this fan favorite with an updated production and our current sound nineteen years later. It's amazing how great it fits stylewise with our new songs that we've released over the last couple of years" says Lars Chriss.

Nils Patrik Johansson says: "Once again we invited Andy Loos (bass), and my son Nils Fredrik Johansson (drums), to help us out in the studio. The keyboards were kept from the original "Entrance" recordings that the late Mats Olausson (Yngwie Malmsteen), did back in 2001".
