Sadist recording new album
Italian progressive death metallers Sadist are currently working on their upcoming ninth studio album, titled 'Firescorched', which is expected to be released next year.
The band will record the new full-length with French virtuoso extreme metal drummer Romain Goulon (ex-Necrophagist, ex-Benighted, ex-Disavowed) and Dutch fretless bass master Jeroen Paul Thesseling (Obscura, Quadvium, ex-Pestilence).
Tommy Talamanca commented:
"During these tough times being mainly in lockdown and spending most of the time in our studios we aim to create a massive sounding, typical earlier progressive Sadist style production. In this early stage the rough material already turns out promising.
At the moment Romain is recording drums and soon Jeroen will start tracking bass. We hope to finish recordings in the first half of 2021 and to release the album later that same year via a new label."
Formed in 1991 and renowned for their progressive death oriented productions 'Above the Light' (1993), 'Tribe' (1995) and 'Crust' (1997), SADIST split up after releasing 'Lego' (2000) but reunited again in 2005.
Thereafter the group released a self-titled album 'Sadist' (2007), followed by 'Season in Silence' (2010), 'Hyaena' (2015) and 'Spellbound' (2018). Their compositions involve heavy usage of guitar and keyboard solos, with jazz and Middle Eastern influences.
