Jiří "Big Boss" Valter leaves Root

Vocalist and forming member of Czech band Root, Jiří "Big Boss" Valter, has left the band (he's the one sitting on the photo). Read statements below.

The band commented:

"Ladies and gentlemen,

Root is, for the first time in thirty-five years, in the situation he planned for us, and right now it is awakened by relentless master time. With increasing age, various circumstances appear that simply do not allow a person to go into some so-called full-time activities - see Big Boss's statement written below.

We are now facing the decision whether to play a concert at the Winter Gothoom Fest over the weekend in an extremely weak line-up and with a slightly different color of voice (and voices) than the one you are used to and which you love so much. The main organizer and our long-time friend Peter himself proposes this quite cruel solution and of course we are not indifferent to it either.
It is clear to us that you will not let us in and you will definitely sing a few songs without us, because they are the anthems of your hearts. In sport's terminology, we would have to play weak and, moreover, without a captain. Let us know what you think about it and don't skimp on sincerity.

Big Boss commented:

"My dear beloved band, dear and beloved FANS - I must inform you that I am leaving the band for health reasons. Thank you for all the beautiful years of playing and drinking I have been happiest in my life. So that's it. I wish you all the best, Your Grandfather Bigb. I'm not responding to comments."
