Tankist release 'Paragraph 58' track
Estonian thrash metal band Tankist released a brand new song 'Paragraph 58', taking a closer look at Article 58 of the Soviet penal code, which was behind millions of unjustified arrests in the Soviet Union.
With this song and the upcoming album in general, Tankist has decided to take a firm stand against all totalitarian regimes on the example of Soviet repressions. At a time when Russia is once again attacking the free world, it is important to remember how hollow and misleading any Russian arguments on human rights and saving their people actually are. Slogans in support of the aggressor country's choices are alarmingly common in the western society, but let's keep in mind that promotion of true freedom cannot go hand in hand with the denial of historical crimes and the banning of repression museums – practices that Russia is self-righteously implementing to this very day.
Tankist are an Estonian metal band formed in 2013. They sculpt their style around old school thrash, often boldly exploring new undiscovered facets of the genre. After their first raw unembellished years, Tankist already redefined themselves by the audaciously eccentric debut LP 'Unhuman'. With the sophomore album "Forced Equal" nearing its 2023 release, Tankist sets off to conquer the darkest corners of blackened thrash akin to avant-garde.
