Valdrin: new EP 'Apex Violator' out in June

The 'Apex Violator' EP from US black metal band Valdrin will be out on Avantgarde Music on June 20th, 2025, on CD, LP, tape and digital, and a video single for 'Ignite the Murder Shrine' will be premiered next week.

Valdrin are a US-based melodic black metal band known for their intricate compositions, storytelling prowess, and immersive soundscapes. Since their 2010 inception, the Cincinnati-based band has been focusing on building their own narrative, skillfully crafting an elaborate sci-fi saga. 'Apex Violator' is the latest chapter in the ongoing epic.

In the wake of Graveyard Earth, Nex Animus travels the poison path, through hidden tunnels of the cosmos, to the Animus Lair. For centuries of funeral tides in the prison of Orcus, he spoke to them, those whose surname he would soon adopt, and whose mission he swore to fulfill. Through possession of the benighted Ausadjur, an infestation of evil begins to grow in the holy kingdom. The Black Seed will soon ignite, and the womb shall become the siphon. On the eve of cosmic annihilation, the Apex Violator will reign atop the Throne of the Lunar Soul.

Known for their dynamic fusion of razor-sharp black metal aggression and immersive, melodic atmospheres, Valdrin have steadily risen as one of the most interesting acts in the North American underground. Since their formation in 2010, Valdrin has crafted a distinctive identity marked by conceptual depth, intricate compositions, and an evolving narrative arc across their discography.
