Soul Demise

Soul Demise split up after 33 years of activity

German melodic death metal band Soul Demise have decided to split up. Here is the band's message:

"Today, we unfortunately have some sad news to share.

After 33 years of band history, we have decided to bring our journey together to an end.

We were fortunate enough to experience incredible times: touring across Europe with renowned bands, performing at major festivals such as Wacken Open Air and Party.San Open Air, and collecting countless unforgettable memories along the way. Yet it is especially the small, family-like festivals—above all our beloved Protzen Open Air, which remained loyal to us throughout all these years—that we will never forget. The same goes for the countless club shows we played over the past decades.

At this point, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the promoters, supporters, friends, and companions who accompanied us on this journey—often all embodied in one and the same person.

We would also like to extend a very special thank you to our label, Apostasy Records. Kerstin and Tomasz, you supported us from the very beginning and believed in our music without ever putting commercial success first. In today's world, that is anything but a given. For that, you have our utmost respect and deepest appreciation.

There is one more person we would especially like to acknowledge: our longtime manager, Christian Otto. Particularly during our early days, he stood by our side with advice and tireless support. He was one of the very first people to believe in us.
Later on, he even released two of our albums through his label, Remission Records—another testament to his trust in us and his dedication to the band. Thank you for everything, Chris.

Now the time has come to draw a line under this chapter. The reasons for this decision are primarily rooted in our private lives and internal band matters. What is important for us to emphasize, however, is that there have been no disputes, no drama, and no bad blood. We can still look each other in the eye, share a beer, and spend a great evening together—as we did just last week.

Unfortunately, health issues have recently added to the situation, which means that at this time we are unable to rehearse or perform live. Therefore, there will be no opportunity this summer to see us on stage one last time.

Whether there will still be a final farewell show is something we will let you know in due course.

Thank you for 33 unforgettable years."
