History

It all started in the summer of 1992, when Marek "Kučo" (bass) left the band Satyr and together with Branislav "Bárom" Barančík (vocals) he founded a new band, still without a name. By the autumn, the band hires other members, Vlado, Edo Štrauch (guitars), Erik "Ero" Burger (drums) and begin to compose the first songs.

After a very hard period in the winter of 1992, in early 1993 the band receives its first offers for concerts and therefore begins to think about the name. A very difficult day and an even harder night passed and the nameless band was named Pathology Stench. The first concert took place in the home environment of Banská Bystrica and was a great success. Concert offers are starting to appear more often. The main goal of the band is to record a demo recording. In the autumn of 1993, just before he left for the studio, Vlado left the band and was replaced in the studio by Edo's brother Lubo Štrauch at that time a member of the Paranoya). In November 1993, the band released a demo cassette 'Practical Brutality' at their own expense, which contains 10 songs with a total length of 31 minutes. The cassette has a color cover and a revolutionary sound.

The year 1994 was very hectic. The band made contacts with several publishers (Obscene Prod, Immortal Souls Productions) which helped to promote and distribute the 'Practical Brutality' cassette. The band started to perform regularly all over Slovakia and also in the Czech Republic, which helped a lot to get to the attention of many fans all over Europe.

During 1995, the band gets on various compilation CDs from around the world. More than 1,000 'Practical Brutality' demos had been sold thus far. The search for a larger publisher begins. After the release of the compilation 'Best Death Metal SK" comes an offer from the German company Gulli Records. The band sent the requested promo material, but the company never responded.

After the problems with drummer Erik and after a mutual agreement, only 16-year-old Vlado Å losiarik from the Unconcern took over the position of drummer in 1996. Guitarist Lubo becomes a full member as the band Paranoya disbanded. The group signs a contract with Immortal Souls Productions and tours the Czech Republic. When he is about to record, the guitarist Edo leaves the band, who decided to get married and live in the Czech Republic. The recording is therefore considerably delayed.

In 1997, the composition of the band becomes more stable: Baro (vocals), Marek "Kučo" Kučera (bass), Lubo (guitar) and Vlado (drums). With this line-up, the band record their debut album 'Gluttony', which is ready by April. After the recordings, the band embarks on a tour with Polish band Vader. The CD 'Gluttony' is officially released in July 1997 (via Immortal Souls Productions) and finally secures the band a firm place on the world stage.

The year 1998 is full of concerts. The band presents their new album and is working on new material.

In 1999 the band ended their collaboration with Immortal Souls Productions, performs less and focuses on composing new songs. During the year, closer cooperation with Shindy Productions begins.

After the last modifications of the new material, the band record their second album 'Acción Mutante' in the Exponent Studio in May 2000. Mixing and mastering takes more time, because the band cares about the quality of the resulting sound. That's why the CD wasn't released until September 2000 via Shindy Productions. After three months, great responses are coming from countries around the world. The band only confirms its strong position on the world stage.

During 2001-2002, the band play a lot of concerts around Europe and is gaining more and more admiration and fans.

In 2003 Pathology Stench record their third album, 'Nezpyred' (via Shindy Productions), after a string of concerts. Kučo, who left the band, no longer participates in the recording. After finishing his study work, the position of bass player was filled by Roman Calpaš (ex-Dementor), who moved from Púchov to Banská Bystrica together with his family. The premiere of the album took place on December 4, 2003 at a joint concert with Napalm Death.

During 2004-2005 Pathology Stench continue with a number of concerts in the Slovak Republic and surrounding countries.

In addition to concerts, the band is also working on a new album in 2006. In the second half of the year, the ranks of pathologists expanded to include another member, Michal "Slimák" Slama (ex-M.S.R.) as the second singer.

In 2008, bass player Roman leaves the band, who also did not allow a large workload to devote himself to the band. His replacement was omáš "Julo" Balon, who also works in the band Abstract. In March 2008, he left the band "SLIMÁK" (vocal) by mutual agreement. The reason for his departure is a lot of work, in addition to which he would not be able to devote himself 100% to the band. The band record their fourth album, 'Meatall', which comes out in July via Shindy Productions.

In 2009 the band play lots of concerts all over Europe.
