History
Blessed by the Secret Of Steel and the Heavy Metal call of fury, Feanor was formed back in July of 1996 with Gustavo Acosta on bass, Gonzalo Lopez on drums, Enrique Tivoli on guitar and Jorge Caudullio on keyboards. After some rehearsals the songs 'In Wings of Tempest', 'Very Slow Is Your Suffering' and 'North Star' were born.
However Gonzalo Lopez left the band and Sebastian Doldan took command of the drumkit and after some time Hector Gonzalez unites on voice. A couple of months later, Flavio Bianchi enters as the new guitarist... And finally, with this new line-up, Feanor debuted in the Marquee venue on November 26, 1998, a great show of might!
After performing several shows in Buenos Aires and the rest of their country, the band entered the studio for their upcoming recording that was to be their first demo 'In Wings of Tempest', including 5 songs which achieved very good critical acclaim at national level as well as abroad. During this period, more changes in the line-up occurred, Enrique Tivoli and Sebastian Doldan leave the band and Flavio Bianchi takes command on the guitars and Emilio Octuplus Wachs the drums. Hector Gonzales is also replaced by Maximiliano Basualdo as the vocalist.
Thanks to this new reinforcement, the group continues performing live in their land, and sharing stages with numerous bands of the local metal scene and generating bonds of steel with international groups such as Virgin Steele, Wizard, Steel Warrior, Sacred Steel, Twisted Tower Dire among many others.
Then, duty calls, the time to enter the studio comes again! The name of this second demo album is 'Esto Es Para Vos' ("This Is for You"), which is dedicated to all the true metal people of Bahia Blanca City of Argentina, who supported the bellicose band during the hard moments of their career. This recording also presents an extra thunderous gift of power thanxs to the collaboration of Sven D'Anna, from the German band Wizard, as the lead voice on the song 'Houses of Fire' (the voice for this track was recorded in the well known Youngblood Professional Studio in Deutchland). It is the time when Feanor also includes the song 'Esto Es Para Vos' on the 'Hermandad Metalica Vol. 1' edited by
Metallica Zine of Argentina, with Hector Gonzales, once more on vocals, as was the case with the 1st demo. For the recording of 'Esto Es Para Vos', the band counted on Claudio "Wizard" Oliva as vocalist but, having entered the band for a short time, Jorge Esteban Del Campo replaced him in charge of the lead voice.
Some more shows came, and one more time, Gustavo and his metal brothers showed their incredible ability with their instrumental weapons by forcing a lot of posers to run like rats! The controversial attitude of Feanor made a lot of enemies but the true and pure heart of this young institution gained the alliance of the true metal community, and then all the wimps and posers were a little worried...
Duty calls again, and the song 'Houses of Fire' is proudly included on the compilation album 'Hermandad Metalica Vol. 2'. Without denying the epic metal style that characterises a band like Feanor, the band continued playing and diffusing their second demo CD 'Esto Es Para Vos' all over Bs. As. and are actually the only Argentinean band that had and have the balls to play cover songs from Manowar and Virgin Steele. Careless of temporary movements or musical fashions, distanced from any commercial interest... Just love for the metal, just love for the steel!!!
Feanor's debut album 'Invencible' was released by Greek label Secret Port Records in 2005.
