History
Frozen Sun, hailing from Denmark's musical capitol Aarhus, started their musical journey in 1992 when the bands first demo tape ('Ancient Tombs')gained deserved attention from the underground.
But it was their 2nd tape 'Defect Dimension of Souls' (1993) that led to the now legendary compilation track on the 2nd 'Fuck You We're From Denmark' compilation CD. That very same demotape and the compilation CD has become sought-after classic pieces, and the Danish underground movement and metalpress baptized Frozen Sun "Denmark's best newcomer band".
The band played numerous shows with bigger names as Dissection & Konkhra as well as underground bands plus a Denmark tour. Frozen Sun was also featured in national TV in a youth-program about music. But the band wanted to work on new material and withdrew from the fuzz to their rehearsal room in order to write the new songs for their debut full-length album 'Dimensions'.
'Dimensions' (released in 1996) is the result of hard work and it captures the bands very varied moods throughout their songs. With the roots solidly planted in the late 80’s thrash metal - the kind of music the band grew up listening to - and the essence of what's left of death metal in 1995-1996, 'Dimensions' came out as a fresh, vivid burst on extreme metal scene of its time. A genre the band themselves preferred to call Stress metal.
In 1998, Frozen Sun recorded a promo tape 'Too Cold for Life' and after a 3-year hiatus, got back together in 2002 and recorded some songs. This was the last sight of the band.
