History
These Tampa, Florida, based death metallers formed in 1987. They recorded their first demos with the line-up Brian Hoffman (guitar), Eric Hoffman (guitar), Glen Benton (bass, vocals) and Steve Asheim (drums). The first 4-track demo 'Feasting the Beast' was released in August 1987, and the sophomore demo 'Sacrificial', containing 6 songs, came out in 1989.
Amon changed their name to Deicide in 1990. Both demos were reissued under Deicide name as 'Amon: Feasting the Beast' compilation in January 1993, through Roadrunner Records.
When the Hoffman brothers (Eric and Brian) got kicked out from Deicide, they activated Amon again in 2007.
In 2012 the band released their debut album 'Liar in Wait' by themselves. It was recorded with Mark Prator at Red Room Recorders. The line-up consisted from the Hoffman brothers, bassist/vocalist Jesse "Jecheal" Jolly and drummer Mike Petrak.
