Odyssey
History
Odyssey officially started when Bilal (drummer) and Ameer (vocalist) from Orion left for Canada to continue their studies. Waqas and Hussam were left but they wanted to continue creating music. They formed Odyssey with Omer (Drums) who was a good friend of Bilal. After some auditions for potential vocalists, Nabeel joined the band. The band had already recorded the instruments for 'Falling into Infinity' at this point and all Nabeel had to do was to record his vocals.
A few months later, they recorded their second song 'The Last Stand', which included keyboards that were recorded by Nabeel. Soon after they finished recording 'The Last Stand', a fan of the band asked Hussam Raza if he could distribute the two demo songs in a physical format in his school and other areas. He was given permission. 20 copies were made initially, and a further 10 were made to be put in shops. All the CD's were given out for free.
The band recruited a bassist, Fawad, just before they were scheduled to perform at the Rafi Peer Youth Festival in Lahore. Before Fawad joined the band, Waqas recorded the bass parts.
The band is currently recording an album set to be released in mid 2009.
