Abattory
History
From the depth of obscurity, Abattoir (later renamed Abattory) was spawned dwells and bring the wrath upon the metal realm during the darkest month of June anno 1997.
In the earlier beginning, Abattory was known as Abattoir and with a line-up consisting of Tyrant on drums, Caduccus on guitars and Kravnos on bass/vocals. Tyrant involvement with the band was a brief one and then came in the blasphemous Dagoth, formerly of Abhorer as Abattory new skins basher in October anno 1997.
With this new line-up, Abattory started to rehearse vigorously in the studio and to compose some songs. With influences and inspirations from old school metal bands such as Kreator, Destruction, Slayer, Bathory, Sodom, Death, Testament... 4 tracks eventually came into being which was a hybrid of death and thrash elements. Abattory went into TNT Studio in December anno 1997 to record those 4 tracks which saw the light as Abattory's debut demo 'Chronicles of Deeds' on the 1st January anno 1998.
May anno 1998 saw the inclusion of another axe man to the band that goes by the name Mythos. His guitars skills compliments Abattory's musical direction excellently and this add to a more powerful sound to the band. A new version of 'Morbid Fear' and 'Bring the Pain' which were taken from the debut demo were re-recorded, but with more speed and brutality to the tracks. Together with a live recording of 'Troops of Doom' the newly recorded tracks were released as a demo single entitled 'Morbid Fear'.
The newly recorded release was later used by Sonic Wave Int. in an Singapore underground metal compilation called 'Metal Legion'. Abattory also participated in Malaysian compilation called 'Still Supreme Epic 2' where the featured track was 'Bring the Pain'.
Once again Abattory went into the recording studio in December anno 1998 to record 4 new tracks for a split release with Paganizer from Sweden. An upcoming Malaysian label Psychic Scream released the split EP titled 'In Glory's Arm, We Will Fall' in February anno 1999. April 1999 saw Kravnos joining Singapore's elite black metal outfit Impiety ,but at the same time still thrashing for Abattory and in June 1999 Dagoth decided to quit Abattory to join Impiety permanently.
Auditions for a replacement drummer went on for a few months, but most of the drummers are unable to fulfill the necessary requirements of the band. In December 1999 Dajjal, formerly the drummer of Impiety on their 'Skullfucking Armageddon' album, was asked to join Abattory. Makhluq, the vocalist was also inquired by Abattory to take over the vocals duties and Kravnos just concentrated on playing his battleaxe. Kravnos left Impiety in December 1999 after their successful South East Asia tour to concentrate more on Abattory.
January anno 2000 Abattoir was renamed to ABATTORY with a stronger line-up of Kravnos on bass, Dajjal on drums, Mythos and Caduccus on guitars and Makhluq on vocals. After rehearsing together for months Abattory went to the trusted TNT Studio and recorded 1 instrumental and 3 helldestructive tracks in the vein of the old school masters to be self release as 'Anthems of Death'. An onslaught of carnage will soon be reveal by the battling hordes of Abattory.
