Hatchery
History
The thrash metal band Hatchery from Germany was originated in autumn, 2003. The four metalheadz Nils Nortmeyer (g.), Erik Fillinger (g.), Ruben Andre (dr.) and Ronald Senft (b.) already knew themselves a long time before and had been able to collect some experience in other bands (Flatline, Graveyard, Secret Land, Freezebitch) before they have brought Hatchery to life. When almost everybody of them had no band to play in, it was clear that they would start a new band together, playing the kind of metal they always wanted to do.
After a short time a suitable rehearsal room was found in Ludwigshafen and the first songs were written before Ingo Schäfer (v). completed the line-up as a shouter. In this line-up the first demo 'Night Time Greys' was recorded in the studio W.U.M. (Ludwigshafen) in may 2004.
The second demo 'Distorted Society' was recorded a year later likewise in the studio W.U.M. (Ludwigshafen). In comparison to the first demo a clear increase was shown as the song structures became more complex and the skills in playing the instruments have been improved. Ingo could present himself more in an aggressive and uncompromising way too, but he had to leave the band for health reasons in the end of 2005.
After a short search for a new shouter Hatchery found Christian "Zottel" Müller (v.), former shouter of Unscared in December 2005. Due to his thrashstyled kind of shouting the death metal elements took a back seat. In autumn 2006 Erik had to quit because of job-related reasons.
Nevertheless 2006 was the year as Hatchery increased the live activities in contrast to 2004 and 2005. Many gigs in germany were played and even in foreign countries like France and Belgium Hatchery smashed their thrashgrenades into the enthusiastic audience.
In 2007 Hatchery recorded their debut album 'Birth of a Bomb' in the Kohlekeller Studios Darmstadt in August.
