History
Chromatic Dark comes from Oulu, Northern Finland. Their music is a versatile mixture of aggressiveness and melody. The band was founded in 2003. After that there has been several line-up changes.
Chromatic Dark's first public release was the demo 'Obsidious', and it was released in spring 2006. Demo was self-recorded by the band at the training place. Chromatic Dark played their first gig in Oulu in spring 2007.
The second four song demo/promo 'Hateballads 2008' was recorded during December 2007 and January 2008. 'Hateballads 2008' gained lots of nice feedback and a couple of demo of the month grades from media. Year 2008 the band played six live shows and wrote new material.
Four new songs became ready during the winter 2008-2009 and the band recorded them by themselves in the end of the spring. Heikki Niemelä mixed and mastered the songs to their final form during the summer. The demo EP 'Fractures' became available on CD in the beginning of October.
The songs for their fourth promotional EP, 'Inhuman Conviction', were recorded in Oulu in several locations during three months in spring 2011. Then the tracks were sent to studio for further processing and the final product became ready in the end of May. Powerful sounds were achieved making honour for the new songs that are more aggressive and mean than ever before in band's back catalogue.However, 'Inhuman Conviction' would be the last ever release from the band. In August 2014 Chromatic Dark split up.
