History

The beginning of Edain can be traced back to the line-up of famous Absurd Conflict from 2003-2007, in which three of the current Edain members were active. Besides playing guitar in Absurd Conflict, Martin Král composes his own material making use of more progressive and heavier elements. Upon singer Martin Brňovják leaving the band (meanwhile in Carbon Dioxide), both consider starting a new band, and when the stagnating Absurd Conflict give enough freedom to drummer Jiří "Jura" Staněk to join (as well as to rejoin his other ex-Absurd Conflict pal František in Mandoria), the band starts rehearsing the material. From Carbon Dioxide, who quickly split-up, singer Martin brings Pavel Jeřábek on lead guitar, and eventually, a suitable full-time bass player is found in Zdeněk Záhora, also a member of NWOBHM-clones Spitfire.

Edain stated, that their style is progressive death metal. During 2008 the band finishes material for first live shows in Brno and other places in southern Moravia.

The band recorded their debut 5-song album 'Through Thought and Time' in March - April 2009, and it was released in June by Pařát Magazine.

In April 2011 František Záhora (Zdeněk's brother) replaced Martin Král as a guitarist. In December of 2011, the compilation CD 'The Sulphur Breather' (one new song, two re-recordings, two live versions and two covers) was released on Zero Budget Productions.

In May 2013 Edain's sophomore album was released. Titled 'Of Those Who Worship Fire', it features six new songs. Again, it was released via Zero Budget Productions.
