Infinitum Obscure
History
Emanating from the inner burning chaotic flame, Infinitum Obscure hail from Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
The obscure and aggressive death metal that the band spews is a diverse mixture of styles heavily rooted in occult metal traditions of the past, which automatically separates them from the unacceptable trends that metal music is now a days.
Founded in 2000 by guitarist/vocalist Roberto Lizarraga, Infinitum Obscure has suffered several line-up changes, thus, still maintaining its anti-religious nature intact, always deeply attracted by obscurity, death and channeling a merciless desire for revenge, awaiting the dissolution of all existence and following its own infernal blackened path towards the coming final aeon.
In April 2002, Infinitum Obscure did a 2 day mini-tour in Baja California, opening for legendary Spanish heavy metallers Angeles Del Infierno, with great success and satisfying results.
In March 2003, a self-produced demo CD entitled 'Ipsus Universum' was released and distributed the band, close friends and supporters. Unfortunately this first demo was doomed to only 250 CD-r copies, due to limited funding. Shortly after the demo release, Infinitum Obscure signed a record release contract with independent, Chicago based, underground label Uttelry Somber Creations. In September 2003, the 'Ipsus Universum / Cosmic Evil' split CD (with Chicago's Ancient Gods) was released. Also in September that year, Infinitum Obscure took part in the infamous Aztec Underground Legions Tour in Chicago and Milwaukee along with brothers of death The Chasm, Obeisance and Ancient Gods, celebrating the spawning of the split CD.
In mid 2005, Infinitum Obscure completed composition and recording of their first full-length album entitled 'Internal Dark Force'. Unfortunately the recording suffer some unexpected delays due to an unprofessional 3rd party. In May 2006, the band forms part of an official compilation CD entitled 'Reflections from the Abyss Vol. 1', released by Californias Kthulu Productions.
In June 2006, Infinitum Obscure completes their first official Mexican tour as support act for Austrian death/black metal blasphemers Belphegor, consisting of 3 dates in the cities of Tijuana, San Luis Potosi and Mexico City.
July 8th, 2006 finally sees the release of 'Internal Dark Force', a year after its initial recording and once again, proudly under the Utterly Somber Creations banner. This year still awaits the arrival of a limited edition single in a 7" vinyl format, entitled 'Obscuridad Eterna', to be printed in 500 hand numbered copies by Mexicos Iron, Blood & Death Corporation.
The limited edition demo tape entitled 'Seeding Darkness' was recorded in 2007 and released in September 2008, and it marked the arrival of a new era of the band. The band signs with Swedish label Blood Harvest and the demo is re-released in 2009.
At last in 2009 'Obscuridad Eterna' EP is released by Blood Harvest, and next in the line was a 10" vinyl version of 'Ipsus Universum', in August 2009. The band also signed with Deathgasm Records (USA), and the debut full length album 'Sub Atris Caelis' was released in October 2009.
