History

T. Luosujärvi and V. Hanhisuanto formed Among The Mortals in 1997 as a two-man project, recording and releasing a demo, 'A Duet of Tragedy', the same year.

During the next few years, they tried their best to put together a full line-up, but faced persistent problems in recruiting musicians (Arto Martikainen - guitar (1998-2001), M. Suorsa - bass (1999-2001) and E. Kitunen - keyboards (1998). The band was put on hold indefinitely in spring 2002, but was never buried for good. T. continued to write new material, while V. established amongthemortals.com.

In autumn 2005 they decided to continue as a two-piece again. In 2009 they released a three-track EP called 'oiad' for free download. The EP was not released in physical form.
