Tormenticon

History

Even though 'Tormenticon' full-length CD is the first official release from the band, it's impossible to speak about Tormenticon as brand-new band. And even hard to say exact birth time but let's try to explain roots of Tormenticon...

Samu, Timo and Ari did activities together in couple of local bands as early as first side of nineties, involved in death metal. Some local gigs and demos were done. Those bands split-up somewhere in mid-90s and the members entered towards new challenges.

Then, somewhere in 2002, Timo and Ari composed and recorded three songs in vein of old school Death metal as project besides their other band activities. But at the time it was hard to find vocalist as required. So nothing more happened for next two years.

Then Aki was found and he completed those songs. He did lyrics and vocal duties for 'Bestial Truth', 'Throw Them to the Grave" and 'Living Corpse' as well as some guitar solos. At the time name Tormenticon was found by Timo and there was plan to release the songs. But as usual that not realized.

Somewhere in middle of the decade, Samu was back in business and just as in early bands with Timo and Ari, he handled the vocal duties and second guitar. They began to write new songs, first to be 'Unlight Earth'. Full line-up was finally real in 2007 when Jukka took care of bass duties. More new songs such as 'Smell of Death', 'Mask of Sanity' and 'You Suffer' were done.

At winter 2008-2009 Tormenticon did two private gigs, first ones ever done under name Tormenticon. During 2009 they recorded five new songs. Four of them and three older ones are placed on front coming full-length CD.

Tormenticon's self-titled full-length CD was released as self-financed via Surma Productions at May 2010. It includes seven songs and traditional death metal is a name of the game.
