Antediluvian
History
Antediluvian is formally and conceptually exploring the idea of will as matter moving matter by awareness of negative enlightenment. The reference to the flood implies conception of time, punishment, duality, and awareness of death and the great calm of the total emptiness before. We consider the gift of forethought as the ability to recognize our inability to reconcile the ultimate beyond, and as the only tool we conquer with, in the struggle in the mire of matter and form. A Promethean spark may enter any orifice, but it also must flow out as it mimics the great breaths of the living universe. These spiraling breaths of life lead back to uncreation. This black hole cannot manifest as its emptiness cannot exist. There is no negativity but nothing.
Antediluvian are Haasiophis (vocals and guitar) Mars-Sekhmet (drums).
The band hail from Canada, and they formed in 2006. The debut demo 'Prehistorik Khaos' was released same year, through Serpent's Head Records. The sophomore demo, 'Primeval Cyclical Catastrophism' followed in 2007.
In 2007, Serpent's Head Records released a 3-way split demo called 'Serpent's Malignancy', where with Antediluvian apeared with '. . . [l]ight am I' . . . and Nuclearhammer (both being Canadian bands).
In July 2008, the next demo, 'Under Wing of Asael', was unleashed.
In 2010 Invictus Productions released 'Watchers' Reign', which compiles the first two Antediluvian demo releases and the material from the following split demo. It is a placenta-soaked testimony to the notoriously bizarre and crushing sound the band has developed since inception.
