History

Aeons Of Old was formerly known as Anaemica (1997-2003). After a serious line-up change the band felt it was time to change its name...

Early 2003 the band changed name to Aeons Of Old and was determined to work on a swift comeback. After the purchase of a drum computer, the trinity recorded the exclusive track 'Howl of Despair' for the prestigious Deathmetal.be sampler 'Face Your Underground Vol. 1' which features such bands as Aborted, Suhrim, In-Quest and Axamenta.

Halfway 2003 Aeons Of Old enlisted a temporary session guitar player, Ian Van Gemeren from Axamenta who would help out the band on concerts when needed. Early September, the band found another solution, by recruiting guitar player Niels Mertens from the Antwerp metalcore band Indaba. Over the next five months more than a dozen gigs were being played in Antwerp, Limburg and Oost-Vlaanderen with both guitar players in varying line-ups. Even vocalist Dirk Broeren started playing along as third guitarist.

Late October, Aeons Of Old started recording a small promo containing three songs and entitled 'Nemesis', which was eventually released by February 2004. At the same time, would-be guitarist Niels Mertens left the band and was replaced by ex-Anaemica member Jeroen Buysse who rejoined the band after a sabbath year.

The band also recently signed up for the Deathmetal.be DVD videoclip shoot (release on christmas 2004). In the meanwhile Aeons Of Old is still looking for a drummer.
