History

Inquisitor are a Lithuanian melodic avant-garde / black metal band. Having its symphonic roots back in 2002, nowadays Inquisitor is an entity looking for an organic junction of challenging rhythmics, harsh riffing and passionate melodic passages.

The history of Inquisitor can be traced back as far as to the year 2002, however the first home records were followed by the succession of changes in line-up and the first official demo 'Prelude' (a self-release CD) appeared only in 2005. As it was an account of almost three years of musical evolution, 'Prelude' contains 6 quite diverse symphonic dark-metal pieces.

The following years witnessed a dramatic change in the sound and ideas of Inquisitor. Having broadened the musical spectrum from still harsher riffing to passionate melodic passages Inquisitor stylistically approached the domain of melodic / avant-garde black metal.

In 2007 deciding not to push some self-recordings into public, Inquisitor finally concentrates on a compositionally and ideologically challenging task of creating a multi-layered nonetheless unified album that would comprise a pseudo-plot with a single lyrical theme and characters. This idea develops into an album that is recorded in summer 2008 and is being mastered for almost a year. This is how 'The Quantum Theory of Id' was born. The album was released early 2010 by Forgotten Path, as the label's first audio release.
