History

Bloodboil was formed in 1997 as Object. They changed their name to Bloodboil in 1999, cause it suited better with the music. The line-up was Norman Ramm (vocals), Con Koolen (guitar), Robert Lammers (bass) and Marcel Lammers (drums).

In June 2000 Bloodboil entered the Harrow recording studios to record 'The Art of the Flesh' demo. It was a six-track demo, brutal death metal assault in the vein of Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation and Dying Fetus. This demo got some raving reviews. Holland's leading metal magazine Aardschok even called it "simply genius".

Right after the recordings of 'Art...' Norman decided to quit and he was replaced by Luc Favié, who also sang with deathgrinders Maggots. After a while Luc decided to quit, because he wanted to focus 100% on Maggots. Coen Hillekens took over as a vocalist.

Based on the good reviews that the art of the flesh demo got in various magazines all over the world, Bloodboil inked a deal with Great White North Records from Canada. Bloodboil's debut album 'Festering Fornication' was recorded at the well know Excess Studios (Sinister, Disavowed, Pyaemia). Artwork was done by Mexican madman Alfonso Artgore Ruiz. It was this artwork that led to a break up between Bloodboil and GWN records. The label found the artwork to explicit but Bloodboil refused to change it and decided to cancel the deal.

After negotiating with several labels Spanish label Flesh Feast Production agreed to release the album. Unfortunately this label went out of business and once again the release had been delayed. All the hard work, time and money they put in the band wasn't paying off. Coen wasn't motivated enough and decided to quit. But luck was on the band's side. The original vocalist Norman returned and the band came in contact with Amputated Vein Records from Japan. In September 2006 Amputated Vein Records released the long awaited 'Festering Fornication'.
