Saturnian Mist
History
Saturnian Mist is an occult black metal band. Impacted by eastern mysticism and western occultism Saturnian Mist has pursued releases wielding the range of influences from Satanic arts to death metal wrapped into the context of fierce and esoteric black metal.
Interpretations of the name: "Saturnian"
1. Of or relating to the planet Saturn or to its supposed astrological influence.
2. Archaic Of or relating to the god Saturn or his reign: "Reign Of Saturn God".
3. Saturnian meter or verse is an old Latin and Italic poetic form, of which the principles of versification have become obscure.
Saturnian Mist was formed gradually in 2006 at Kuopio, Finland by Famulus Zetekh & Somber Chaoswind in order to combine musical expression together with Occultism and spirituality both in theory and practice.
Influenced by Gnosticism, Mysticism an ascetic and minimalistic self-titled debut demo was released in 2008 by french cult label Drakkar Productions and was widely spread in the underground.
When concentrated more on the violent side of Left-Hand-Path philosophy of Occultism and tendencies drawn more to the Eastern mysticism (Veda), several recordings were made during the years 2007-2009 but all didn't see daylight at all. First to do so was 'Repellings' EP in 2009 with a strong emphasis of demonology and straightforwarded black metal. Not long after Repellings appeared a split CD with Creatura through Russian label Monokrom Records.
In October 2009 Saturnian Mist was summoned to the Sathanas In Gloriam Festivals in Rotterdam, Netherlands for first public live ceremony and was followed by other domestic & foreign shows very quickly in order to establish the significance of performing live.
Years of working with Occultism and aural arts were wrapped into a burly representation of archetypal Satan in the debut album titled 'Gnostikoi Ha-Shaitan' released by Ahdistuksen Aihio Productions in the end of 2011 as a massive digipack CD edition.
