Ecocide

History

In March 2012 Bas and Sten got together to start a new band: Ecocide. They soon found a bass player, Rick, and started writing their own material.

After playing a few gigs the band began working on their first release. The self-produced demo 'Ecocide' was released on December 21st, 2012, on CD (limited to 50).

After the demo release musical influences changed and the band began writing more old school death metal songs.

After a little more than a year, on July 22nd, 2013, the band has released their debut-album 'Eye of Wicked Sight'. It was recorded at Dirty Bird Studios. The album received a lot of positive reviews and support from people all over the world.

The debut album was reissued on 12" vinyl in January 2014 by Supreme Chaos Records, and on CD in April by Disharmonic Records.

After two line-up changes the band called it quits 2015 (they also released the single 'When the Stars Align'), returning briefly in 2017 to release a single 'The Godhand' and in 2020 the band released another single titled 'Sleeper'. These songs were recorded just for fun.

The band remained dormant until the summer of 2023, when they announced their return along with a second full-length album. The 2nd album 'Metamorphosis' was released on October 23rd, 2023, through Memento Mori Records (CD) and Violence In The Veins (vinyl).
