Ominous

History

Ominous was formed in 2009 in Tampere Finland. The founding members include ex-members from bands such as Behexen and Urn.

After few years of writing and recording songs Ominous played first time live in Steelfest Open Air 2012 at Hyvinkää. With bands like Entombed, Taake and Impaled Nazarene also in the festival line-up.

From the start Ominous has been anxious to play pure uncompromising black metal. To spice things up by taking elements from both death and thrash metal, the band plays what one would call destructive black metal. Adding a more modern production - although maintaining old school vibration - they bring in mind such bands like Deströyer 666 and Dissection.

In spring 2012 Ominous released its first demo 'Death... The Beginning' (MC) via Impious Desecration Records.
