Maloic
History
Maloic is a heavy metal band from Mangalore, India. Since its inception in the year 2012, Maloic has been working on a genre of music that seems to be fairly untouched.
Maloic has a diverse musical influence which can be seen on all their compositions. Influences of heavy metal, death metal, western classical music as well as Carnatic music is evident. Heavy parts in their debut album are well supported by acoustic guitar work. Maloic keeps no stone unturned as they couple melodies with harmonies, choruses with symphonies, extreme guitars with technical drumming and thumping bass lines with
groove. All though their influences are derivative, the compositions have a sound of their own and thus Maloic has been able to merge their vivid influences and create something original.
The debut album titled 'Death' is produced by one of the leading producers in the country, Anupam Roy. With the recording process of 'Death' done, Maloic is sure to make a place in your mind in December 2016.
The name of the band is derived from the word "maloik" which means "the evil eye" or "the devil's horns" popularised by the great Ronnie James Dio.
