Slechtvalk
History
Formed in 1999 as a one-man project by Shamgar. Slechtvalk's debut album 'Falconry' was released in 2000 through Fear Dark Records, which received good reviews from various magazines.
During the following year a full band was formed and recorded and released its second album 'The War That Plagues the Lands' The album was releasd in 2002 via Fear Dark Records. A split-album with Indonesian avantgarde metal band Kekal, titled 'Of Chaos and Warfare' followed, on the same record label.
In 2003 Slechtvalk began performing live, wearing medieval costumes and armour.
In 2004 the band entered the studio for a third installment: 'At the Dawn of War' was released in 2005 together with a live DVD recorded at Hedon, Zwolle (NL), entitled 'Upon the Fields of Battle', which was also available alone. 4-track single cut 'Thunder of War' was put out. All releases came through Fear Dark Records.
In the following years (2006-2008), the band experienced some line-up changes.
In 2009 the band signed with Whirlwind Records. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, they released a compilation album 'An Era of Bloodshed'.
In 2010 it was time for the fourth full-length album, 'A Forlorn Throne', which was recorded in Sweden at Studio Mega by Johan Örnborg and mixed/mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street (both known for their work with Opeth and Amon Amarth among others).
In 2015 Slechtvalk recorded their fifth studio album 'Where Wandering Shadows and Mists Collide' with Lasse Lammert at LSD-Studio (Germany). The band released it independently as a digipak CD and digital forms in December 2016.
