Ascendant

History

Ascendant was formed in late 2012 by guitar players Alaa Abou Saada and Ashish Shetty, with bassist Vipere "Puneet" Nebuchadnezzar - the inclusion of drummer Aram Kalousdian and vocalist Youmni Abou Al Zahab within a couple of months completed the line up. Right from the beginning, the members had a clear vision for the band - to play exactly the sort of music they loved. Pure, powerful and high quality heavy metal about topics that mattered to them.

The band has diverse roots with members from Syria, Armenia and India. All the band members are experienced musicians with several projects behind them. Their synergy is obvious and is manifested in their electrifying live performances and songs which are instantly catchy and unapologetically powerful. With an emphasis on playing original material, Ascendant has taken the UAE metal scene by storm after just a handful of shows.

In May 2017 they released the debut full-length album 'A Thousand Echoes'.

In March 2018 the band signed with German label Pure Steel Publishing who reissues the debut album.
