Frosthelm
History
Formed in 2009, Frosthelm hail from the frozen plains of North Dakota, where the extreme weather and bleak environment has left a profound and distinct mark on their sound. With critically acclaimed self-produced and released recordings under their bullet belts, starting with 2012 EP 'The Northwinds Rend Flesh'
In March 2015, Frosthelm unleashed its darkest material to date via their debut full length, 'The Endless Winter', released via Black Work (Alkemy Brothers). A vile brew of thrashend black metal, the debut album is abundant with punishingly memorable riffs, melodic frostbitten savagery and plague infused revulsion down to its frozen core. Guitar warlock Dakota L. Irwin describes the album as "bitter, dark, angry and disgusted."
'The Endless Winter' was tracked at Clear Lake Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA and produced and engineered by Eric Milos and Alec Schneider. Drum engineering was handled by Sir Robert Kramer at Mekoche Studios in Bismarck, ND - world famous for its drum room. Mixing and mastering duties were helmed by Matt Hyde, whose credits include Slayer and Skeletonwitch. Appearing on multiple best-of-2015 lists from well-respected metal publications and receiving many glowing reviews, 'The Endless Winter' is akin to a prairie blizzard; furious, melodic and devastating.
With the acquisition of shredder Billy Zahn, Frosthelm has pushed the envelope even further on their latest release, full-length album 'Pyrrhic', released on March 23rd, 2019, via Revenger Records.
