History

Established in 2017 as a solo project of the American death metal musician Uriel (Morbicus, Necrorite, Reveler, Putred, ex-Gutwrench, ex-Cryptic Realms etc) active since 1989 and relocated to Romania back in 2014.

Vorus first release 'Chamber of Laments' demo tape as solo formula was released on October 1st, 2017. It was released via Death in Pieces Records and limited to 50 copies.

Uriel's wife, Corina (ex-Deimos, ex-Atys, Reveler, Putred etc.) joined the band in September, 2017 on the bass guitar.

As a duo, Vorus recorded their debut full-length album 'The Wretched Path' in December 2017, released on tape (Death In Pieces Records; 150 copies; April 19th, 2018) and CD (Detonation Records; 500 copies; July 6th, 2018).

In May 2018 the band released a split tape titled 'Horror Death Metal' with Necrorite. It was an independent release of 20 hand-numbered copies.

In October 2018 the 'Inflicted Sufferance' demo tape was released (first on October 15th via Traumatic Records, limited to 50 copies, and on October 31st via Macabre End Prods, limited to 100 copies). 'Inflicted Sufferance' also came out with bonus songs (CD on October 22nd, 2018 via Death In Pieces Records, limited to 500 copies; tape on October 29th via Macabre End Prods, limited to 100).

In April 2019 following a 4-way split, 'Into the Bottomless Pit', with Rotheads, Engrossed and Eruptive released as cassette (on April 22nd via Macabre End Prods, limited to 150) and CD (on April 29nd via Macabre End Prods, limited to 500).

In August 2019, Doru (Malpraxis, Evergreed, ex-Necrovile, etc.) drummer from Cluj-Napoca joined the band permanently, 2020 is the year that marks the live debut of Vorus band on a mini tour in Transylvania with the bands Oncology and Left Hand Path.

On May 30th, 2021, the band released their second full-length album entitled 'Traversing the Non-Existence'. Again, both CD and tape editions were released: CD via Detonation Records (limited to 500) and tape via Macabre End Prods (limited to 100).

Shortly after the album, Vorus welcomed a new member, Filip (Necrotum, Demoted, Putred, etc.), a very young guitarist from Brasov joined the band on the rhythm guitar position.

With this formula, 'The Crypt of Shadows' EP was recorded in October 2021, and released on tape by the band (November 11th; limited to 20 copies).

In 2022, Vorus performed in a mini tour with Malpraxis, Invader and Omnitrocy in several towns around the country, then the band participated in Death Madness Fest 1 (Sibiu) and a few more concerts. This year Vorus participated in Bucharest Death Fest. 'The Crypt of Shadows' was released on tape by Macabre End Prods on June 1st, 2022, and it was limited to 100 copies.

Currently the band are working on the songs for the third full-length album entitled 'Desolate Eternities' scheduled to be recorded in the fall of 2023 and released by the spring of 2024 by the record label Loud Rage Music from Romania on CD format.
