Schavot

History

The Dutch one-man project Schavot was founded by multi-instrumentalist Floris Velthuis out of nostalgia for 90's Scandinavian black metal that he grew up with. After the critically acclaimed debut 'Galgenbrok' (2021) and its successor 'Kronieken uit de nevel' (2023), Schavot shared a split album with three other Dutch black metal acts who draw inspiration from the 90's era. Both albums were published via Void Wanderer Productions, and limited to 200 digipak CDs and 50 tapes.

With the third full-length album 'Verstrikt in halflicht', Floris explored the orchestral and symphonic side of the project even more, without sacrificing the furious aggression for which Schavot is known.
