It is like 1992 or something like that again! Necrot's, who hail from Oakland, California, first release is a self-titled, two-track tape with a printed and glued B/W cover. Tape is a bit too hi-tech, as the band's logo is printed on it, not on a glued label. Well, this was released in USA by label called Blood Divine.
By the way, Necrot play death metal, if their name already didn't reveal it to you. The riffs are really churning, twisting and crusty. Guitar tone is really deep and dark, crumbling. The drums provide varying involved and militant beats, of course with quite a lot of double kick drumming. The bass provides a sturdy backbone to already bassy sound. It sounds like infernal roar, and the first image in my mind was a post-nuclear war wasteland. If two guys who love Immolation, Bolt Thrower and Incantation, decide to form a band in vein of their idols, then one outcome for that kind of a band would be Necrot. The songs aren't too simple, but the variety factor is good. This way, the songs actually feel longer than they actually are. Growled vocals are guttural and powerful, perfectly suiting with the heavy music.
Lyrics are printed, so the package is nifty, and old school, as mentioned earlier. If you crave for crusty death metal and own a tape deck, then this is a release to get! Note: European release will be out in September 2012 through Extremely Rotten Records (Denmark).
